Diary: A long, long time ago, in Notting Hill and Holland Park...

If I can ever concentrate for long enough, there will be a book called HOLLAND PARK BEHIND THE SCENES! I promised one reader of NOTTING HILL BEHIND THE SCENES that I would write it, and I will.

I get excited and distracted by the stories and lives of the residents of this area, I don't always know where to draw a line and say: that's it, the book is ready.

There are other reasons that the book has been delayed. Sad and happy reasons. Life needs to take over and run the show, sometimes. History has a wonderful way of being something you can return to.

I talked about the first time I saw the images in NOTTING HILL BEHIND THE SCENES before I knew the characters they would lead me to: the feeling was of falling into the photograph, disappearing into the past. Time travelling.  I love that feeling. I hope you do, too
